SUPER ONE ROUND 4 – LLANDOW, SOUTH WALES

The sun shone all weekend in South Wales with 27 degree temperatures, ensuring Friday practice at Llandow gave fast times on track all day, with Joseph matching the fastest  time recorded during testing, and always looking like a little bit more could  be found with set up.

Qualifying on Saturday in the Super One series produced a 3rd in group, giving an overall starting  grid position of P4 for the first heat followed by a P3 for the second.

Heat results of a 3rd in the first and a photo finish second  in the heat for second place gave a P4 start for final 1, but going into the  final on P4 was always going to be hard on the outside for the first corner.
After conceding a couple of places to stay on track, Joseph came back through quickly  to take the lead, however the lead swapped between 5 drivers 10 times  until a coming together with a team mate let the leader get away.

The 5 kart wide scrap went to the line, bringing a 3rd place, very tight, finish.

A similar race in the second final but starting on P3 gave a better start to be up to second by the first corner, leaving his team mates a bit behind and Joseph working with an unlikely duo of an opposing team to try and break away from the chasing pack.

The pack behind pushed resulting in a 10 kart battle over the last few laps with the race leader changing 7 times in 12 minutes.

Again a coming together with a team mate allowed the leader to get away, Joseph was left defending a huge line of karts to try and hold a position.

Over the line joint 3rd with an exact same time as a teammate but awarded 4th as the teammate was in front on the final corner which seemed a bit harsh not to split the awarded for the drop in one place.
