Little Green Man
Round 1 – PF International
In a quick switch of class Joseph got a late entry into the first round of the LGM series to race in the new Mini X30 class. Without any prior testing or preparation he arrived at the track early on Saturday morning and was immediately the fastest on track, this pace continued throughout the day and into the first heat on Saturday afternoon.
The first heat saw him start from the back row, mid point in the race out came the red flags. Joseph had made up a remarkable 16 places and could have easily gained more had the race ran its course.
Sundays heats brought a mid pack and front row start from where he maintained the pace and decisiveness he demonstrated on Saturday and finished 2nd and 1st respectively.
Joseph lined up 3rd for the start and immediately battled to the front when heading into the 1st hairpin. Maintaining pace and control around the outside of the leading karts he moved into pole leaving the pack to battle for places.
The rest of the race proved to be an exciting one with Joseph leading much of it. The top position changed multiple times but Jospeh maintained a strong pace to battle off the sea of Fusion Karts that surrounded him.
Last lap and Joseph leads but a coming together with a contender as the they crossed the bridge pushed Joseph off the track. With dirty tyres Joseph struggled for grip and was now in second. As his tyres cleared he was able to take 2nd however the frontrunner was now too far ahead to make up the position.
A great start in the championship with a promising pace for the rest of the season.
