British Championship Rounds 9 and 10

Last weekend Team Taylor headed to Wigan to compete in the penultimate weekend of racing in the British Karting Championship at Three Sisters Kart Track.

Following a testing rounds 7 and 8, Joseph sat in 6th place in the championship – all was to play for.

Official practice began well on the Friday with Joseph topping the timing tables in the first round. This pace was carried into Saturday as he was quickest again in the opening practice session. All changed in qualifying however where Joseph struggled for pace – finishing mid table. His woes looked behind in heat 1 when he stormed past seven karts. Heat 2 was quite the opposite – losing 9 places from his starting position. It was clear there was not a consistent performance in the kart.

Starting mid-pack for the final Joseph struggled to make up places and had to battle hard to even manage 18th – well below his usual performances. This later became 15th once penalties were dished out.

Next up is the final round of the IAME Euro Series where Joseph currently sits 5th in the championship. After being Whacked off in Wackersdorf, Joseph will certainly have a point to prove in the final at Salbris, France – a formidable circuit.
